Baca County Homestead Pioneers
Leader: Lisa Byrne, 523-6873. Club meetings are on the first Friday of every month, at 1:00 p.m. in Vilas.

The Baca County Homestead Pioneers 4-H club was established in 2016. It was designed to assist children in learning the skills that they will need to succeed in the modern world. Through our membership, we share the cultural and generational experience of 4-H, while preparing for the real world that we will soon enter. Dedicated and caring adults, volunteering in service to others, guide and support us in setting goals and accomplishing project completion. We believe that children are a precious resource. Developing our essential skills as rural youth, benefits us and the world, leveling the playing field by allowing us the revolutionary opportunity to experience and practice our future roles as global leaders and citizens, from the security of home, much like our metropolitan contemporaries have been able to do for generations
Our club meets in Vilas, CO, on the first Friday of every month, at 1:00 p.m. Lisa Byrne is our club leader. We have six members, ages 7-14, whose mission it is to recycle, reuse, repurpose, and re-educate! We recycle aluminum cans as our main fundraising activity, which we use to support our community service activities, such as serving at events, and assisting our countywide neighbors with yard work.
